DEVICE WARRANTY POLICY

 

At FRUITS FOR SALE, we are committed to providing high-quality mobile devices and excellent customer service. This Device Warranty Policy outlines the terms and conditions applicable to devices purchased through our online store.
 

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE

All new mobile devices purchased from FRUITS FOR SALE are covered by a 12-month limited warranty from the date of purchase, unless otherwise stated on the product page or invoice.

The warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship arising under normal use during the warranty period.

At our discretion, we may:

  • Repair the defective device;

  • Replace the device with the same model or an equivalent model of similar specifications and value; or

  • Offer a refund where repair or replacement is not feasible.

Any repaired or replacement device will continue to be covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days from the date of repair/replacement, whichever is longer.
 

2. ELIGIBILITY FOR WARRANTY CLAIMS

To qualify for warranty service, customers must:

  • Be the original purchaser of the device;

  • Provide valid proof of purchase (invoice, receipt, or order confirmation);

  • Submit the warranty claim within the applicable warranty period;

  • Ensure that the device's IMEI number or serial number is intact and has not been altered, removed, or tampered with.
     

3. WHAT IS COVERED

The warranty covers:

  • Manufacturing defects affecting device functionality;

  • Hardware failures occurring under normal and intended use;

  • Faulty internal components not caused by external damage;

  • Defective batteries supplied with the device that fail due to manufacturing defects within the warranty period.
     

4. WHAT IS NOT COVERED

This warranty does not cover:

Physical Damage

  • Cracked or broken screens;

  • Scratches, dents, chips, or cosmetic damage;

  • Damage caused by dropping, impact, or mishandling.

Liquid Damage

  • Exposure to water, moisture, humidity, or other liquids;

  • Corrosion resulting from liquid contact.

Unauthorized Repairs or Modifications

  • Repairs performed by unauthorized service providers;

  • Rooting, jailbreaking, unlocking, or modification of the device software or hardware;

  • Installation of unauthorized firmware or software.

Misuse and Negligence

  • Improper use contrary to manufacturer instructions;

  • Use of incompatible chargers, accessories, or third-party components causing damage;

  • Damage resulting from accidents, abuse, neglect, or improper storage.

Normal Wear and Tear

  • Battery degradation due to normal usage;

  • Cosmetic deterioration that does not affect functionality.

Other Exclusions

  • Theft, loss, or disappearance of the device;

  • Damage caused by fire, floods, lightning, power surges, or other external events;

  • Data loss, including contacts, photos, applications, documents, or other stored information.
     

5. WARRANTY CLAIM PROCESS

To initiate a warranty claim, customers should:

    • Device model;

6. DEVICE ASSESSMENT

All devices submitted under warranty will undergo technical inspection to determine whether the defect is covered under this policy.

  • Initial assessment may take 3–7 business days after the device is received.

  • Repair or replacement timeframes may vary depending on parts availability and service requirements.

  • If the issue is determined not to be covered under warranty, customers will receive a quotation for out-of-warranty repairs, where applicable.
     

7. SHIPPING AND RETURN COSTS

  • If a warranty claim is approved, FRUITS FOR SALE will cover reasonable return shipping costs within South Africa.

  • Customers are responsible for shipping costs associated with claims that are rejected due to exclusions under this policy.

  • Customers should securely package devices to prevent transit damage. We are not responsible for damage resulting from inadequate packaging.
     

8. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

Before sending a device for warranty service, customers must:

  • Back up all personal data and files;

  • Remove SIM cards and memory cards;

  • Disable security locks, passwords, and account protections where necessary for diagnostics;

  • Restore the device to factory settings where possible.

FRUITS FOR SALE is not responsible for any loss, corruption, or disclosure of data during the repair or replacement process.
 

9. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, FRUITS FOR SALE shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the device or the inability to use the device.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits any consumer rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer protection laws.
 

10. CONSUMER RIGHTS

This warranty is provided in addition to any rights and remedies available under applicable consumer protection legislation. If local laws provide additional protections or remedies, those rights will prevail to the extent required by law.
 

11. POLICY CHANGES

We reserve the right to amend this Warranty Policy at any time. Any updates will be published on our website and will apply to purchases made after the effective date of the revised policy.
